Ah, the Hawaiian shirt. It perfectly encapsulates the timeless style known as the “dad ’fit,” an ensemble that went further than tourist destinations and weekend get-togethers. The Hawaiian shirt has made its way to the runway and, apparently, Studio Ghibli.
As part of its lifestyle GBL line, the studio behind everyone’s favorite feel-good anime movies is releasing two new Hawaiian shirts and skirts, just days after dropping their Ghibli-themed skateboards.
The Hawaiian-styled shirts are inspired by films like “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” featuring different iconic scenes, spots and characters like Kiki, Tombo and Jiji. The “My Neighbor Totoro” design, on the other hand, comes in dark blue, complete with green leaves, Totoro’s acorns and some Susuwatari roaming about.
These shirts are yours for the not-so-low price of ¥11,800 JPY (that’s approximately P5,425). Time to dust off that piggy bank, then.
Check out the collection over at GBL.
