If her sister’s Lorde, will Indy Yelich’s stage name be Savior? Nothing’s final yet—but her new track seems to be.
According to DAZED, MusicFeeds confirmed that Indy has been sharing her original tracks on Instagram. The lyrics of her new track goes like this: “Wish I could sit in bed with you / Now we stare across the room / Goodbye a thousand times, but it’s eating me alive / There’s nothing I can do about it / You and I / Awkward conversations in the corner / You used to hold me.”
Just like her sister, Indy is a growing creative force. If she’s not releasing poetry books, she does music. She started with her SoundCloud cover of A Great Big World’s “Say Something” back in 2014. Since then, she’s been uploading tracks from time to time, including Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” and Julia Michael’s “Issues.”
First thing we noticed is Indy’s voice is similar to her sister’s “Pure Heroine” era. Apart from that, the comparison between them stops there. Her sound veers away from Lorde’s bass and synth-filled dark pop. On the other hand, Indy’s sound is reminiscent of Florence + The Machine’s gentler tracks, with a dash of Stevie Nicks’ witchy folk allure.
