Is this really happening? Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) and Rihanna are really starring in a movie called Guava Island!
After months of speculation, we finally have some idea on what Childish Gambino and Bad Gal Riri are up to. The official trailer for their project has yet to be uploaded online. But thanks to a fan from PHAROS Festival in New Zealand, we have a two-minute cam-recorded clip in our hands.
Better than nothing, right?
To be honest, the two-minute teaser is still a bit vague. It looks like the two artists are partners-in-crime living in a tropical island. However, not everything is what it seems.

“We live in paradise but none of us actually have the time or the means to live here,” Childish Gambino exclaims in the trailer. Is it about crime-driven romance a la Bonnie and Clyde? Or is about their lives in a hellish tropical paradise? One thing is for sure though, it’s looking pretty good so far.
Guava Island is directed by Hiro Murai of “This is America” and Atlanta fame. Starring alongside Rihanna and Donald are Letitia Wright and Nonso Anozie, known for their roles in Black Panther and RocknRolla.
The release date and further details about the project is yet to be announced. For now, watch the trailer for Guava Island below.
