Add these free Museum of Modern Art classes into your digital curriculum

While physical schools may be suspended in the meantime, education continues on with free online courses—and there’s a whole selection of ’em. Students of all ages can take their pick with Ivy League courses, Sundance masterclasses and even classes straight out of Hogwarts (it’s for real). Now, with free art books at your disposal, you can add the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)’s courses into your digital curriculum.

Available on massive open online course site Coursera, MoMA’s offerings range from different kinds of mediums and fields, including photography, fashion design and art history. Most are at beginner levels, so background knowledge isn’t a necessary prerequisite.

Classes like Fashion as Design focuses on more than 70 garments from across the world, as they study “what we wear, why we wear it, how it’s made and what it means.” Seeing Through Photographs looks into the art of photography and how it’s been used in its nearly 180-year history as an art form and a tool for documentation. Other courses include What is Contemporary Art, Modern Art and Ideas, Postwar Abstract Painting, as well as the teaching series Art and Activity, Art and Ideas and Art in Inquiry.

If you’re hovering over that enroll button, don’t hesitate any longer—these virtual classes will officially start on Apr. 14. That’s right: The student thinking cap is back on.
