Today, Google announced a new podcast feature in their Google Play Music app. This new service will rival the likes of iTunes with their impressive collection of podcast clients, and Spotify which allows you to stream podcasts in its beta version.
Google wants to connect you with podcasts based on what you’re feeling and what you’re interested in. According to their blog post which details the launch, “they want to make it easy to find the right podcast—whether you’re a podcast aficionado or listening for the first time.”
In addition to the option to save podcasts for offline listening, you’ll be notified of any updates to your favorite podcasts. Google Play Music Podcasts will roll out first on Android devices, as there is no news for an iOS release just yet.
Also, broadcasters who want to submit their podcasts to be included in Google’s program can add their shows now via the Play Music portal.
