Remembering Kabosu: The best ‘Doge’ memes to grace our screens

Kabosu, the Japanese dog behind the popular ‘Doge’ memes passed away last Thursday after succumbing to leukemia and liver disease. Estimated to be 18 years old, the iconic Shiba Inu was adopted by Atsuko Sato from a puppy farm in 2010. 

This fated encounter would eventually spark a lifelong partnership between the two and give birth to a meme the whole world would come to know of and love.

“I think Kabo-chan was the happiest dog in the world. And I was the happiest owner,” said Sato.

Passing away peacefully in her sleep is no less the departure Kabosu—who left us with many memories and memes to look fondly at—deserved. In remembrance of the Shiba Inu who continues to dominate the internet even in death, here are some of the best ‘Doge’ memes to grace our screens.
