Just when you think we’re getting a short break from the Taylor Swift headlines after she dropped her 31-track album “The Tortured Poets Department” and dominated the Billboard charts, Miss Americana boosts herself back to the public eye with the resumption of her record-breaking Eras Tour.
The first stop on the European leg of the tour is Paris, making it the city to envy as they became the first to witness the new additions to the concert setlist. On May 9, Swift opened the three-hour-long show in a dazzling red-orange body suit—a fiery departure from the now iconic blue-and-pink ensemble she often starts the “Lover” segment of the tour with.
To make room for the “Tortured Poets” set, Swift cut several songs from different eras, such as “The Archer” from “Lover” and “Long Live” from “Speak Now.” She also combined the “Folklore” and “Evermore” sets, cutting “The 1,” “The Last Great American Dynasty,” “Tis the Damn Season,” and the dramatically theatrical rendition of “Tolerate It.”
She then added seven songs off the new album: “But Daddy I Love Him,” “So High School,” “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me,” “Down Bad,” “Fortnight,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” and the ironic banger “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.”

The new era added also means new costumes. In the “Tortured Poets” set, Swift was seen wearing a stark white dress, detailed with the lyrics “I love you, it’s ruining my life.” US fashion site WhoWhatWear reports it as a Vivienne Westwood piece.
Swift also performed a short skit featuring an on-stage costume change before singing the high-functioning girlie anthem “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” in a glittering black two-piece paired with a gold tailcoat. (She also calls the new segment “Female Rage: The Musical.” As a theater fan, I am both thrilled and once again envious.)
Swift also sang the “Midnights” track “Paris” in her acoustic set—an apt ode to the city. Did we mention we’re jealous of Paris right now? Yeah. Well, we can just keep waiting for more updates as the Eras Tour continues across Europe.
