There’s just something about unexpected pairings and the enemies-to-lovers trope that hook us, whether it be as viewers or readers. The funny banter between two unsuspecting characters (who most of the time can’t even stand each other) is just *chef’s kiss*. To top it all off, there’s this satisfaction from their slow burn: how they first try to hide their feelings because they can’t accept their differences, but in the end, they find nothing left to do but embrace them.
This is exactly what we and the audience are loudly rooting for with the future of SnoRene, a.k.a. Snoop Manansala (Anthony Jennings) and Irene Tiu (Maris Racal) in “Can’t Buy Me Love”. The unlikely pairing took the internet by storm with their undeniable chemistry, funny scenes, and memorable interactions. From the trending “Mama mo” line (that the two actually ad-libbed) to them randomly expecting a child, the chaotic yet entertaining timeline of Snoop and Irene just gives us life.
If, like us, you just can’t get enough of SnoRene, here are some scenes you can (re)watch while waiting for the next update of their story.
The birth of “Erna” and “I-gugol mo!”
Ever wondered why Snoop calls Irene “Erna”? In the words of the former, “Edi i-gugol mo!”
Seriously though, it makes absolute sense that Snoop calls Irene, Erna, especially when one of their iconic moments includes a scene where the two step on poop. And fun fact: Anthony actually shared that he ad-libbed the “Edi i-gugol mo” scene, as he wasn’t sure he could mention Google, according to an interview with Antoinette Jadaone and JP Habac on the “Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast”.

Omelette na walang itlog
Kaba score: 100.
Anthony has the making of the next rom-com leading man. His natural acting chops in this scene are splendid; even his panic translates to the audience in an unintentionally funny way. Some of them even almost reach absurdity: After an anxious drinking session with Irene, Snoop experiences a nightmare of having three daughters who look like her.
A challenge comes out of nowhere, then: Paano nga ba ’yung omelette na walang itlog?
@netflixph bestie paano yung omelette na walang itlog 😭🍳 #AnthonyJennings #MarisRacal #Snorene #CantBuyMeLove #CBML #CBMLonNetflixEp76 #Netflix ♬ original sound – Netflix Philippines
Get you a guy who will give you tinola
They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but it seems that it’s also Snoop’s way to get to Irene’s.
In a cute scene the two share together, Snoop gives Irene some food, already taking responsibility for her and their possible child due to their pregnancy scare. Or, at least what Snoop thinks as his way of taking care of her, as Irene takes this as Snoop wanting to “score” with her at first. It’s always chaos with these two.

A Serious™ SnoRene moment
It’s not only the funny moments that hit the right spots with SnoRene—even the serious ones get us invested.
Exhibit A: This conversation was not devoid of teasing, as Snoop revealed he used to see Irene as 3M (“mayamang malditang masarap tusukin…ang mata”). But it later turned into a heartfelt chat as the two revealed more about how they see each other. The amount of kilig was just the same as during their playful banter.

A relieved Snoop… or is he, really?
We can be sad about things we never had—and it seems that Snoop can relate. After the scene of Irene informing him that she isn’t pregnant, the “CBML” viewers were quick to spot masked feelings. Although Irene is bubbling with relief, ready to drink her “epektus” again, Snoop’s sigh and look may tell us something else.

Of course, let’s not forget the iconic “Mama mo” scene
How can we forget the peak “aircon vs kanal humor” battle that arguably got almost the entire country on the SnoRene agenda? Apart from it being so funny, it adds another layer to the scene to know that Anthony and Maris actually ad-libbed this, too. Talk about natural chemistry and spot-on instinct.
@netflixph change roles tayo for today. si snoop na rin po ay nahulog na kay irene 🏃🍌 #CBML #CantBuyMeLove #MarisRacal #AnthonyJennings #Netflix #Snorene ♬ original sound – Netflix Philippines
The show is far from over, and there is certainly more to expect as the story progresses, but I think we can all agree that we all want #SnoRene to be *the* endgame, right?
