Maximizing their joint slay: 5 times K-pop idols showed love to P-pop songs

In this new generation of K-pop idols, there are many more ways wherein fans can keep up with their ults. It is more common now for idols to have their own personal social media pages that fans can follow for updates instead of just group accounts. Idols nowadays are also more free to post an array of content that they like and show more of their personalities and tastes that not only fans, but also some K-netz appreciate.

Part of what idols are able to share with their stans are the shows, movies, games, and music that they are into lately. During their live streams on platforms where fans can join and chat with them on the comments, they also ask for recommendations on what they can check out. Case in point: A fan recommended that ENHYPEN’s Jake listen to Lola Amour’s “Raining in Manila” that the idol appreciated. In recent news, SB19’s “Gento” performance at the Asia Artist Awards pumped up NewJeans and Stray Kids.

We love seeing P-pop and K-pop coming together, so here are other times our favorite idols showed P-pop some love.

Aespa Giselle dancing to “B.A.D.” by Denise Julia

Hit after hit, Denise Julia just further proves that she is a force to be reckoned with in P-pop. Following her smash hit “NVMD,” the singer-songwriter has returned with another hot girl anthem, “B.A.D.” from her freshly dropped debut mini-album “Sweet Nothings (Chapter 1)”. Many dance covers have been borne out of the track—and Aespa’s Giselle, a fellow baddie, was no exception to this.

This wasn’t the first time Giselle showed her love to the internet-declared  “patron saint of situationships’” song as she also used “B.A.D.” in an Instagram story prior to the cover, causing Denise to freak out in an X (formerly Twitter) post.

LE SSERAFIM Yunjin using Mrld’s song “An Art Gallery Could Never Be As Unique As You” in an Instagram post

Filipino singer-songwriter Mrld is one lucky fan because LE SSERAFIM’s Yunjin used her song in a recent Instagram post during a day she spent with Chaewon at a museum. The idol, dubbed by fans as a total Gen Z because of how active she is on social media, is also often trending because of how she’s updated with the trends. Apparently, she is also on the radar for up and coming artists like Mrld.

Mrld expressed her appreciation for the idol in a Facebook post, where her followers also shared their congratulations to the “Ligaya” singer.

ENHYPEN members Jake and Jungwon as Lola Amour stans

ENHYPEN and Lola Amour collab, when?

It seems as if Lola Amour’s impact is not only a drizzle in Manila, but a storm even internationally because of how much recognition the band got through their smash hit “Raining in Manila”. With its catchy tune and universal lyrics, any listener will surely be singing and jamming to it after the first listen—and it seems ENHYPEN members Jake and Jungwon can relate.

The two idols did not shy away from sharing their appreciation for the band’s song with fans through WeVerse. Lola Amour in turn also thanked the PH Engenes for sharing their music to the K-pop stars.

Jake was also seen vibing to Lola Amour’s song Fallen in another live.

Ateez dancing “Gento” with SB19

Even K-pop idols couldn’t help but dance along with the P-pop kings’ mega-hit “Gento”. Among the many idols who participated in the “Gento” dance challenge on TikTok were Ateez members San and Mingi—and they even did the steps with SB19’s Pablo, Stell, and Justin themselves.

Meanwhile, Josh and Ken danced to Ateez’s hit “Bounce” in another TikTok. Talk about Ateez and SB19 maximizing their joint slay.

Jungkook listening to Zack Tabudlo

Both BTS and Zack Tabudlo are not new to making records and breaking them, so imagine the internet’s excitement when Jungkook not only played Zack’s hit song “Give Me Your Forever” in a live stream, but saved it to his playlist, too? Jungkook even said that Zack’s voice is “so good,” sending the “Binibini” singer overjoyed. “I can now die in peace,” Zack quipped on X, referring to Jungkook by his title “The Golden Maknae”.

Zack also then thanked the ARMY who requested Jungkook to play the song.

Music truly is a universal language that transcends barriers, and we can’t wait to see more collaborations and unexpected crossovers in the future.
