Get into DJing and play at an actual party in this workshop this weekend

Mixing the right tunes and other musical themes for aspiring disc jockeys can’t be mastered right off the bat. And sometimes, the privilege of learning to be a DJ may not be available to all, especially in terms of accessing equipment.

If earning extra credits for DJing is your goal this semester break but don’t know where to start, don’t fret. There is an upcoming DJ workshop you might want to sign up for this weekend, packaged with full equipment access.

In partnership with The Flying Lugaw and The Jig, independent art space Anima and events place Alt Func are opening their house for a DJ workshop and party Don’t Tell Nanay, DJ Ako!

Aiming “to make DJing more accessible,” this workshop is composed of professional DJs who will teach participants to hone their skills even without prior experience. The workshop attendees will be given proper DJ equipment that participants “might not regularly have access to.”

The roster of instructors includes electronic producer dot.jaime (Jaime San Juan) and disc jockey FierceAngel (Aaliyah Reodica). The workshop is happening on June 10, with regular ticket rates at P1,200. Just sign up here if you’re interested.

And, get this: The workshop’s participants will also get to level up their experience by having the opportunity to perform short DJ sets alongside their instructors at the Don’t Tell Nanay, DJ Ako! party on June 17.

The party is also open to the public (which is important info, in case you want your friends to witness that milestone), and other professional DJs will be performing. The lineup includes Teyalogos, A.Priv_A, dot.jaime, FierceAngel, and chain messages. The pre-sale ticket is priced at P250. You can secure your pass here.

All these events will happen at the Anima Art Space in Quezon City.
