BRB, I’m lining up for Shaun the Sheep’s movie on the big screen

One of my core childhood memories is waking up in the morning to my favorite cartoon’s theme song, whether it’s the “sugar, spice, and everything nice” spiel from “The Powerpuff Girls” to the “He’s Shaun the sheep” lyrics. Now as an adult, I can barely come across those, even if I’m with a kid in front of a TV.

But here’s good news for cartoon-loving adults like me: We can jump right back to the past through movie screenings happening in the next few weeks.

In partnership with Go Asia Entertainment, the University of the Philippines Film Institute presents Europe Animated, a series of animated film screenings that lets you relive your childhood. The roster includes titles like “The Queen’s Corgi,” “Asterix and Obelix: Mansion of the Gods,” the fantasy modern classic “The Little Prince,” and “Shaun the Sheep Movie,” which premiered in 2015. I mean, why would I skip an opportunity to celebrate a Gen Z-approved icon?

The screening started on May 25 and will run until June 10 at the UPFI Film Center in Diliman, Quezon City. You can peep the schedule of showings below.

Don’t forget to wear your face mask upon entering the cinema and pay the ticket fee of P200. Only P150 for students, seniors, persons with disabilities, and government employees.
