Toss a coin to your budding cook, watchers of “The Witcher.” If a literary saga, video games, an anime movie, and a TV series aren’t enough, Geralt and co. are journeying to undiscovered territory: cookbooks.
Fresh from the ovens of Anita Sarna and Karolina Krupecka of food blog Nerds’ Kitchen and fan project Witcher Kitchen is the aptly titled “The Witcher Cookbook,” fully trademarked by the video games’ developer CD Projekt Red.
Packed with 80 recipes, the cookbook takes a page from Geralt’s own canon adventures, as inspired by the vast land of video game “The Witcher 3.” This includes delectable munchies from the Oxenfurt markets, baked fruits from the White Orchard, and Skellige’s very own fish dish with a side of mulled cider.
“These dishes celebrate local and seasonal ingredients while adding unique twists that form a culinary map of the Continent and beyond,” reads the cookbook’s official synopsis, which details the “meticulously researched” and “immersive recipes” the book has to offer. (And it may or may not have this Elf and Onion soup, elf ear included.)
“The Witcher Cookbook,” which is set to come out on Oct. 25, is available for pre-order. If you’ve got $35 (P1,800, hardcover) or $14.99 (P760, ebook) plus all those Philippine shipping fees to spare, then it might be time to get adventurous in the kitchen—you know, in more ways than one.
