The Tomdaya cinematic universe never ends. If “Spider-Man: No Way Home” had you crying for MJ and Peter, then we raise you: “Euphoria’s” Rue and… blurry audience man?
Fans of HBO’s “Euphoria” were abuzz after the release of season two’s seventh episode “The Trials and Tribulations of Trying to Pee While Depressed,” when a certain figure was spotted during one scene. The penultimate episode featured the theatrical debut of Lexi’s long-awaited high school play, with a Tom Holland-shaped person part of its shocked audience.
Now, the question you’re all asking: Is that actually Tom Holland? He certainly got the curls right, and it isn’t exactly “Euphoria” stans’ fault for thinking so. In a Q&A with IMDb, Holland had admitted to visiting the show’s set “30 times,” with Zendaya mentioning that his appearance should be an “Easter egg.”
Meanwhile, in a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Emmy Award-winning actress had said: “You know, we joke about sneaking him into the background and seeing if someone can spot him.” Previously, fans have also speculated about a behind-the-scenes photo shared by actor Siyon Foster, which featured a masked person behind Zendaya that might have been Tom in the flesh, too.
The clues are there, folks. Until Tom and Zendaya come knocking on our doors telling us it ain’t him, then our tinfoil hats stay on.
