SB19’s Pablo is a lone wolf for solo track ‘La Luna’

The first fact in the A’TIN book: There’s no stopping SB19. The same goes for its leader Pablo, whose solo career kicks off with an eclectic banger.

Fresh off the P-pop group’s domination on Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart (and a youth ambassador title, to boot), the leader of the five-member band dropped his debut single “La Luna” on Jan. 28, paired with an accompanying music video.

Composed and produced by Pablo himself, “La Luna” takes on topics of self-empowerment with verses in Filipino and English, garbed in hard-hitting bass and hip-hop-inspired drums. With visuals reminiscent of gritty old-fashioned werewolf films, “La Luna’s” MV sees Pablo in chains, shackled as his inner voices confront him.

“We all have flaws and we need to accept those imperfections because those are what make us who we are,” Pablo shares in a statement regarding the track’s themes.

“I always like the cinematic feeling the music scoring bring[s] upon movie scenes,” he continues. “It amplifies the emotion that is currently being portrayed. I decided to incorporate that in my music. I want it to be grand and full to bring out the intensity of the song’s emotion.”
