Another Tom Holland ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy is likely in the works

Ah, “Spider-Man,” we can’t get enough of it. Many Spider-Men have come, gone, and hope to return, but Tom Holland might be the one that sticks. According to recent reports, a new trilogy starring the actor is likely in the works.

During an interview with Fandango, “Spider-Man” producer Amy Pascal confirmed Marvel and Sony’s intention to continue the current Spidey universe featuring the actor.

“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last ‘Spider-Man’ movie,” she said. “We are getting ready to make the next ‘Spider-Man’ movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”

Despite Pascal’s definitive statement, according to Deadline’s sources, no deal has been set in stone for a new “Spider-Man” trilogy. New deals will have to be made with Holland, as well as potential co-stars like Zendaya and director Jon Watts.

While Tom Holland pondered—and existentially, I might add—about continuing his role as the most recent Spidey in a GQ interview published last month (“Maybe it is time for me to move on,” he said. “If I’m playing Spider-Man after I’m 30, I’ve done something wrong.”), the 25-year-old actor did hint to some “very exciting things” in the horizon.

“Listen, all I’ll say is we have some very, very exciting things to be talking about,” Holland told French TV show Quotidien, as reported by Digital Spy. “I don’t know what those things are or what they will transpire to be, but it looks like it’s an incredibly bright future ahead. And, as I’ve said before, Spider-Man will forever live in me.”

And so it seems, the future is looking bright, filled with spandex-clad, web-slinging heroes. Oh, boy.
