Suffice to say, Quentin Tarantino has a lot of plans. While he may have had thoughts of retiring after his 10th film, he’s still pretty vocal about his long to-do list, which includes A “Star Trek” AU, a dream “Rambo” with Adam Driver, and now, “Kill Bill 3.” (You know, again.)
During this week’s Rome Film Festival where Tarantino received a lifetime achievement award, the famed director was asked about his potential next film, which according to Variety, he had “no idea” about. But when the possibility of “Kill Bill 3” was raised, he answered: “Why not?”
The cult favorite “Kill Bill” series premiered in 2003, which followed an assassin codenamed “The Bride” (Uma Thurman) determined to wreak havoc against her ex-boss Bill after waking up from a four-year coma that he had caused.
Still, just like we said, this isn’t the first time the concept was raised. Speaking to MTV’s “Happy, Sad Confused” podcast back in 2019, Tarantino had confirmed that he and Thurman, his frequent collaborator, have had talks about it.
“Me and Uma have talked about it recently, frankly, to tell you the truth. I’m not sure if I’m going to do it, but I have thought about it a little further,” he said.
Tarantino has also mentioned that out of his films, “Kill Bill” was one he would develop further. “I’ve wondered what happens to The Bride 10 years later, 15 years later—what happens to her daughter.”
But before “Kill Bill 3” can even happen, Tarantino has plans of making another film altogether.
“But first I want to make a comedy,” he said to Italian state broadcaster RAI on Sunday, Oct. 17. “I’m looking forward to shooting that [thing] because it’s going to be really fun. Because I want to shoot it in the Spaghetti Western style where everybody’s speaking a different language.”
Well, one thing’s for sure—we’ll be here waiting for that, along with all the other stuff that Tarantino wants to do.
