Besides our source for growing pains and sitcom hijinks, our Disney Channel faves may be among the first to school us on style. And while some sartorial choices may seem off in hindsight, there are still those we’d still smuggle in our closets, ironically or not.
Case in point: These seven ’fit picks from the House of Mouse that still have a special place in our heads in all their campy glory. (Because let’s get real: We’re secretly A-okay with them.)
Hannah’s season three outfits in “Hannah Montana”
Back in ’08, nothing says “I’m a famous pop star, don’t touch me” more than a frilly prom dress layered over a plain T-shirt. Ms. Hannah Montana, of course, aces this ensemble with sparkly silver combat boots and a pink fingerless glove meant for one hand only.
Raven’s custom school uniform in “That’s So Raven”
While some of us didn’t know what the big deal was when Raven and friends were punished into wearing uniforms, Raven Baxter still attempted to stick it to the man with her customized design featuring a blazer bedazzled with safety pins that scream “punk” then topped with a short feather boa.
London’s all-pink outfit in “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody”
Queen of the PRNDL and the Tipton empire has a walk-in closet full of iconic clothes, but London thrives in her all-pink ’fit, complete with a ruffled cardigan, a matching beret and a bag with precious Ivana in tow.
Lizzie’s unicorn sweater in “Lizzie McGuire”
She may hate it with fury, but the infamous unicorn sweater in its red-knitted, pink-maned magnificence is a must-have. (For ironic attire enthusiasts or the mythical creature-obsessed, that is.)
Sharpay’s “Fabulous” swimsuit in “High School Musical 2”
Yes, it’s the white-studded suit for us. That, and the oversized sunglasses and equally large star pendant that are basically made to be worn during a musical number about expensive taste.
The Cheetah Girls’ animal print tracksuits in “The Cheetah Girls”
In 2003, Galleria, Chanel, Dorinda and Aqua did the impossible: get us into animal print, even just for an hour-long movie. They raised the bar even further by mixing it with velvet tracksuits—and multi-colored ones, at that.
Everything Harper wore in “Wizards of Waverly Place”
An icon, a legend—it’s no other than Alex Russo’s quirky best friend Harper Finkle. What she lacks in magical skill, she makes up for in Gaga-slash-Björk energy with a collection of dresses inspired by inanimate objects, ranging from rubber ducks to an actual lamp.
