Bored in the house? A local Wild Rift tournament with a whopping P10 million prize is about to happen.
Set to start in April, Mineski has just announced its nationwide League of Legends: Wild Rift competition. It will be hosted by Philippine Pro Gaming League which is divided into two seasons (Summer split and Fall split), each having—drum roll, please—a P5 million prize.
Instead of opting to invite players, Mineski, in partnership with Riot Games Southeast Asia, will hold “open qualifier” matches that will happen in North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Judging by “pure skill,” “Nobody is invited into the brackets. So massive open qualifiers are conducted in which the best teams advance in a ladder format,” said Mark Navarro, Mineski general manager.
So, yes, you can gather the gang and flex those gaming gains you’ve been practicing all this time.ho knows, you might bag home the millions.
The whole tournament mechanics is detailed as follows: “The winners of the qualifiers will compete in the group stage, where the teams will earn points to determine their playoff positioning. Finally, the top two teams from the playoffs will get to test their mettle against the best in Southeast Asia in the season-ending Super Cup. The farther a team gets in the tournament, the richer it becomes as one point equals one peso.”
ICYMI, a Valorant tournament was also announced earlier this month. Check out more details about it here.
