“Wala sakin, tignan mo pa gamit ko.”
After the PhilHealth corruption was exposed last year, we couldn’t help but share the resounding question, “Where’s the P15 billion?”
That P15 billion could buy more than enough vaccines (let’s say 75 million shots given that AstraZeneca is priced at 4USD), fund the universal healthcare initiative, modernize public hospitals, and properly compensate frontline health workers (which is its intended use, BTW). But no, the sum was lost to corrupt PhilHealth officials, its former anti-fraud officer told a Senate hearing last year. The slow progress of the case just goes to show the kind of justice system we have that favors position over accountability.
Heck, we’re all affected here because that involves public funds. So if anything, we’re hella obsessed with these tote bags and pouches from Tinda Tinda, emblazoned with the words, “Walang Laman na 15 billion.” Irony, scorn and tongue in cheek denial of guilt in one. At least, we’re transparent.
So what’s stopping you from insisting that the missing and misused P15 billion is not inside your cute bag? Tinda Tinda’s zipperless tote (P180) and pouch (P120) are available in black, and retails for P280 a set. You can order directly from Shopee and opt for same-day delivery.
