Jess Connelly’s latest drop with Toqa is not just for fans, it’s for the community too.
Last Nov. 25, Jess revealed the JCon x Toqa Bagyo Relief Bundle on her socials. What the girls from Toqadid with Jess’ old merch is give it new life by repurposing it. The fruit of this collab consists of the following; an ICON muscle tee, baby J sando, two Gemini face masks, and a metallic Toqa tote.
Apart from an attempt at producing a zero-waste drop, this merch bundle has an amazing cause. The collab’s proceeds will all go to helping survivors and small local businesses affected by Typhoon Ulysses. In partnership with Issa Barte’s For The Future PH, Jess and Toqa are using their platforms to give back in this difficult time.
“This year has been relentless. Pandemic, then typhoon come supertyphoon. In the wake of such devastation, we’re worried about the long term livelihoods of many Filipinos,” writes Jess in her site. “Together with TOQA, we unpicked each garm & carefully stitched them into 2 brand new silhouettes, not an inch of fabric wasted: there are only 40 bagyo relief bundles in the world, and we wanted to put them within anyone’s reach.”
Obviously, we’ve always repped Jess since day one. And this is exactly the reason why. We don’t only hype a talented queen—but a socially-conscious one, too.
