A leveled-up ‘Gameboys’ is streaming on Netflix soon

Netflix finally heard us, BL fans: “Gameboys” is finally, finally heading to the streaming platform and we couldn’t be more excited for the web series that practically started the local BL boom.

Netflix Philippines just dropped the news on Twitter: A “leveled-up” “Gameboys” is coming soon. That means new scenes, new script, but the same two gamers who have endeared themselves to us (plus the same message on love).

“Gameboys Level-Up Edition” will still follow Cairo (played by Elijah Canlas) and Gavreel (played by Kokoy de Santos), who were initially rivals but soon forged a connection, at a time when the world was forced into self-isolation.

You can look forward to your fave scenes refreshed, additional scenes, and even new Screentime and Vidgram tea from your beloved supporting characters. But even with all these upgrades, the series’ message on love encompassing all genders still remains.

“It is the kind of love that encompasses virtual connection as we prove that love indeed has no boundaries. Now it is going to be on Netflix for the world to discover as Gameboys Level-Up Edition, and I am very proud of what our team has achieved,” said series director Ivan Andrew Payawal. “Gameboys Level-Up Edition” will be released on Netflix worldwide on Dec. 30. In the meantime, you can watch the OG series on YouTube here.
