Stream ‘Brrt Brrt,’ Bawal Clan’s bullseye callout on the government

Bawal Clan didn’t fucking hold back at all: After the chillingly accurate imagery of systemic flaws in “Headshot,” they’re completing the “Fuck 12” EP with the equally raw “Brrt Brrt.”

Their new song, like “Headshot,” is a commentary on social injustice, but this time aiming straight for the Philippine government’s priorities and the current political climate. And like the previous release, they sampled voice recordings to set the tone and vibe of the song.

While “Headshot” used audio clips from news reports of the shootings of Kian delos Santos and Breonna Taylor, “Brrt Brrt” made sure to leave an impact with their choice of audio: President Rodrigo Duterte’s infamous “shoot to kill” order for the police, military and barangay officials.
