We’re gushing over “The Cuphead Show!” (before it possibly disappoints us)

Cuphead and his pal Mugman just scored a sweet, sweet deal with Netflix.

Based on the lovable Fleischer-inspired video game, “The Cuphead Show!” is an upcoming animated series on Netflix, fresh off the minds of animation legends and the game creators themselves.

The folks behind “The Cuphead Show!” dropped an exclusive preview and so far, it looks pretty good and it might add an extra layer to the video game’s existing lore.

“The Cuphead Show!” is the brainchild of Netflix Animation, King Features Syndicate and Studio MDHR, which housed the Cuphead videogame. Voiced by Tru Valentino (Cuphead) and Frank Todaro (Mugman), the show revolves around the mishaps of these two lovable siblings who made an unlikely deal with the devil.

Rounding out the other voices are Joe Hanna as Elder Kettle, Grey DeLisle as Ms. Chalice and Luke Millington as the Devil. The show relies on hand-drawn animation and a complete jazz soundtrack. So don’t fret OG Cuphead fans, it’s pretty loyal to the video game itself.

The release date for Netflix’s “The Cuphead Show” hasn’t been confirmed yet. But if you want to give the game a shot, Cuphead is available on Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
