Join a Netflix party (and virtual drinking sesh) with strangers this Friday

If you miss your regular Friday night out, there’s honestly no perfect replacement. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t score some well-deserved serotonin from online hangouts. Luckily, this platform knows just what to do.

Originally a weekly movie night event at Borough in BGC, Manila Movie Nights has relocated online to host Netflix parties. On June 5 and 12, they screened “Before Sunrise” and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” And tomorrow, June 19, Spike Lee’s 2020 drama film “Da 5 Bloods” takes over the (multiple) screens at 8:30 p.m.

So, do you need a pass? Not really. It’s free and everyone can join—just make sure you have a Netflix account, a Netflix Party extension on Chrome and possibly the mood to talk to strangers in the virtual room. As a bonus, the host will also hold drinking cues, so don’t worry about getting buzzed while watching. If snacking is also your thing, they also post contacts of food stores on their event page. See you there?
