Now that “Sailor Moon’s” coming to YouTube, the craze for our childhood magic girl continues to fly in full force—but really, when did it ever stop? (Case in point: these sneakers and makeup palette.) Artists and “Sailor Moon” are as tightly knit as the Sailor Guardians, so we’ve also come to expect this recent drawing trend. Still, they came through with gold.
From Deviantart to Twitter, the “draw in your style” challenge spread across channels, with artists redrawing a scene from an episode of “Sailor Moon S.” We see the titular character mid-battle with a look of concern on her face, as she stares at someone off-screen.
Soon, recreations filled the #sailormoonredraw hashtag, ranging from realistic renderings to local editions (hello, Filipina Usagi Tsukino). Check out some of these masterpieces below.
