Epic Games Store gives away free games every week. But their latest drop might be the biggest one yet.
On Twitter, the online store teased a mystery game that’ll be free for download ‘till May 21. All sources are saying that it’s none other than Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V).
The online store accidentally leaked their mystery surprise for tomorrow via Twitter. In the deleted tweet, Epic Games wrote: “Get Grand Theft Auto V free on PC until May 21. Yours to keep forever on the Epic Games Store.” Sorry for the leak—but great news for us.
“Game Pressure is currently reporting an anonymous source that says that this mystery game will be GTA V,” writes Forbes. “It would arguably be a bigger deal than the game coming to Game Pass, because once you download a free game from Epic, it’s yours to keep.” According to Comic Book, you need an Epic Games Store account to download the game. It will cost nothing at all and it’s not for free trial. Your free copy of GTA V is yours to keep forever. Of course, this free game is only available for PC users (enter, PC master race).
If you’re a fan of free stuff but not the game, GTA V is about a young street hustler, a retired bank robber and a terrifying psychopath trying to pull a series of heists together. There is a plot—but we really stay for the music and nostalgic gameplay.
Who doesn’t like stealing cars and blowing shit up for no damn reason? Now, we can do all that with a free copy of GTA V.
