We’re wide awake and caffeinated for Ruru’s upcoming single and MV

Quarantine has led to creatives working a different sort of magic, and it seems that resident alt-pop musician Denice Quimbo—a.k.a. Ruru—is no exception.

In a teaser video posted throughout her social channels, the artist shared a clip captioned simply with “quarantine jamz.” In what could either be sprung from our acid trip or an acid reflux, we see Ruru herself dancing to a very caffeine-induced background, crooning vocals included. Do we have a potential Zoom background in our midst? Signs point to yes.

On May 7, we can expect Ruru’s brand new single along with a music video. This comes just two months after the release of her EP “The Odds.”

Now that we’re all caffeinated, we can say this with clarity: Ruru is on a streak, and we’ll be sticking around for what’s next. In the meantime, check out our chat with the musician, where we talk about her recent EP and her growth as an artist—she might even have a song recommendation to give.
