Unconfined Cinema goes online with John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo

The love team of our childhood got back together last Feb. for Unconfined Cinema. Although we are stuck in quarantine, it looks like the show is still on.

Prepare yourselves loyal John Lloyd/Bea shippers—they’re back together for a new online project.

On Instagram last Apr. 12, the famous love team made their announcement. It appears to be an online edition of Unconfined Cinema with directors Antoinette Jadaone and Dan Villegas. Their IG posts reads, along with the hashtag #unconfined cinema: “Over the next week, we will be performing a work of fiction on Instagram. It is a love story and it is about these times. Any resemblance to persons, living or dead, is intentional.”

Fans saw them together last Feb. 14 where they did a live script reading of “That Thing Called Tadhana” for the first Unconfined Cinema installment. During the script reading, everyone got excited over seeing Cruz for his first showbiz appearance after a two-year hiatus. One of their last projects was with Cathy Grace-Molina for “A Second Chance.”

We are still waiting for further details on when this project will drop. For now, we have to wait for whatever these creatives are cooking up. The only thing we know so far is that they’ll probably perform this over at Instagram Live and it will be way different from their first live script reading.

Obviously, since their loveteam ended, we went on with our different personas. The kids and teens who grew up with this duo became Instabaddies, indie film kids, gig rats, K-drama stans—away from our “One More Chance” obsession. But I have to admit, this dose of non-cutesy nostalgia is an exciting thing to witness.

Hopefully, this means a big John Lloyd/Bea movie project after quarantine.

Still from “One More Chance”
