If you’ve always dreamed of getting a publishing deal but never knew where to start, the Philippine International Comics Festival might be your shot at getting your story out there.
PICOF is looking for 10 solid comic pitches to develop for their festival lineup next year. Yep, just your pitches. Winning entries will be developed through free creator workshops and project incubation labs.
Even more good news for beginner komikeros: Artists of all experience levels are welcome to join as long as they “are open to feedback and are ready to develop their stories” with the Editors. Once the manuscript is finished, it will be published and launched as part of the Official Selection of the Philippine International Comics Festival 2021.

It doesn’t end there; among the selection, one will be chosen as Best Komik with a cash prize of P150,000. For any comic artist who wants to get their work out there, this is a pretty good deal. One that’s definitely worth placing your bet on.
