“Shut your doors and Open your favorite web browsers,” reads the latest post of Cebu-based art collective koloWn. Despite accurately describing our usual day-to-day social media slavery, it is an intriguing call to action by any means. They punctuate the post with a straightforward endnote, ”Enjoy our web-based artworks.”

Following the vague but altogether enticing invitation is an album of website links and screenshots where you can appreciate art from the safety of your own homes (or whichever disinfected place you are currently scrolling from). This online gallery is in response to the recent row of event cancelations brought on by the coronavirus health issue. How do we figure that? Of course, safety and sanitation takes top priority during a time of a nationwide health crisis. But it’s always a relief to find (online) spaces for art to make its presence felt. After all, no one is being spared. From art exhibits to music festivals, almost every major art commune is being postponed, rescheduled or put on hold indefinitely.

Thankfully, we have “Art in the Age of Coronavirus” to disinfect the cluttered, art-deprived pit we call a soul. Check out the gallery below.
