Megan Thee Stallion’s debut album ‘Suga’ will be out this weekend

Summer only begins when the rap queen of the season Megan Thee Stallion says so, and she has spoken: It starts this weekend.

Megan Thee Stallion is releasing her debut album “Suga” this Mar. 6. You can expect nine tracks to shake your booty to, with features from Kehlani and Gunna. If her latest single off the album “B.I.T.C.H.” is any indication, we’re expecting no less than Miss Megan burning buildings down and melting faces off with bars as per usual.

The quick release date didn’t come without a fight, though. Megan is currently in a highly publicized legal battle with her record label 1501 Certified Entertainment for allegedly barring her from releasing new music.

The rapper has been seeking renegotiations for her current contract, which is said to only give her 40 percent of royalties, with the rest going to 1501. “It’s really just, like, a greedy game,” says Megan who has been sharing the issue with her fans via Instagram Live sessions.

Megan also says that she pays for producers, engineers and features herself. Also, according to the artist, all her earnings from live shows go directly to the label. Because of her requests, 1501 kept her from putting out the record—until now, that is.

“Suga” almost wouldn’t have seen the light of day until Megan’s team filed a temporary restraining order (TRO) against 1501 Entertainment. A Texas court allowed the TRO, and so we’re getting our Hot Girl Summer just in time.

1501 Entertainment’s CEO Carl Crawford has responded to Megan’s claims through a Billboard interview calling her a liar. “Me being greedy and taking money from her, that’s crazy. I never tried to take nothing from her. The only thing we ever did was give, give, give,” says Crawford.

We don’t know exactly what the real deal is yet, but Thee Stallion is definitely not going down without a fight like the bad “B.I.T.C.H.” she is. Let it be known that #REALHOTGIRLSHIT is the hashtag of summer 2020.
