Who’s ready to binge ’90s Nickelodeon shows on Netflix?

The streaming war between Nickelodeon and Disney+ has just gotten even more heated. After Disney launched its latest streaming platform last week, Nickelodeon announced its latest streaming partnership with the media giant Netflix.

What’s the best thing out of this streaming war? They’re bringing classic Nickelodeon shows back.

According to Netflix, they are working with Nickelodeon to bring us original animated content based on Nick characters we’ve come to know and love, as well as new shows as well. This partnership started when they released two finales of beloved Nick shows; “Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus” and “Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling.”

“Nickelodeon’s next step forward is to keep expanding beyond linear platforms, and our broader content partnership with Netflix is a key path toward that goal,” told president of Nickelodeon Brian Robbins to Hollywood Reporter

This partnership doesn’t only want to stream our ’90s classics. Like the new “Spongebob Squarepants” spin-off, they want to do more reboots or finally do the finale our younger selves were deprived of at the time.

“Nickelodeon has generated scores of characters that kids love, and we look forward to telling wholly original stories that re-imagine and expand on the worlds they inhabit,” said Melissa Cobb, Netflix’s Vice President of Original Animation. “We’re thrilled to continue collaborating with Brian Robbins, Ramsey Naito, and the creative team at Nickelodeon in new ways as we look to find fresh voices and bring bold stories to our global audience on Netflix.”

If anything can beat an onslaught of fresh Disney content, it would be the instant nostalgia fuel of classic Nick toons. We all love a “High School Musical” spin-off—but people would kill to see a new “Ren & Stimpy.” Maybe even a well-executed reboot of “Legends of the Hidden Temple.”

If we’re getting anything out of this streaming war, it’s new content to fuel our nostalgia tanks.
