One of One Click Straight’s magic tricks is creeping in our feelings (and unfinished playlists) right on cue. Today, Sept. 27, the alternative band reminds us that we can do anything except forget them. With their new single “Paraiso,” how could we?

The dreamy track, clad with the group’s infectious brand of synth pop and striking ballad, rattles us immediately with its opening line: “Ikaw ang kahulugan ng pag-ibig.” It sings about a paradise of luck, certainty, security, and all those too good to be true makings of the world—which are admittedly hard to find these days. It doesn’t take you to a lot of twists and turns, but the whole package of the track is meant to make you spin around—slowly but surely, with its gentle but echoing progression taking you to a new journey.
Just recently, One Click Straight performed at Music Matters Live in Singapore. With everything that’s going on, we’re left with a bigger craving for more OCS records soon. Or maybe a music video for “Paraiso?” Or even a collaborative track with IV of Spades and St. Wolf, if we’re lucky enough (besides, OCS already called for it in 2017.)
