Angkas is back on the road and all is right with the world again
Traffic in Manila proves that Hell is indeed a place on Earth. The morning rush here unbearable, our daily commute is getting worse, and ride-sharing apps like Uber are unfavored by the LTFRB. But don’t fret—an alternative solution has just come back from the dead. Start downloading your favorite local motorcycle hailing app again. Angkas is now back online.
Angkas was granted a preliminary injunction by the Mandaluyong RTC today. A preliminary injunction means that the government cannot act with the final ruling or outcome of a case. TLDR, Angkas is back again for now. Judge Carlos Valenzuela penned this order last August 2.

But do keep the “for now” of the previous statement in mind. LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra III claimed that they have not received a copy of the preliminary injunction.
Last July 10, the motorcycle hailing app released an online petition to show support for motorcycle-taxis in the Philippines. They accompanied this petition release with an impressive campaign showing a day in a life of an Angkas driver.
The motorcycle hailing app might not be everyone’s cup of tea. But for people who are on a rush and can’t tolerate traffic any longer, Angkas is their knight in shining armor. Remember: ride-sharing apps like Angkas exist because of the intolerable traffic congestion here in the city after all.
