Geared to bring to the world some underrated homegrown talents, Philippine-based prod The Rest Is Noise is back at it again with an unmissable show. ‘Summer Noise: A The Rest Is Noise Show’ features 18 acts from our very own artist scene along with performers from Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong.
The big day is happening on May 5, 2018, Saturday at Century City Mall Event Space, Makati. First performers take the stage at 2pm, but be sure to get there earlier as they are giving away posters and postcards to the first 200 attendees. What’s a better way to amp up this summer event? No other way but booze! (Sorry minors, no alcoholic beverages for you.)
Still need a tiny bit of convincing? Headliners consist of Singapore’s post-rock duo Permanence, Hong Kong’s part punk, part classic rock, part throwback ‘80s indie band The Sleeves, live experimental vixens X0809 from Thailand, and local acts riot punk band Tiger Pussy and synth-wave duo Mandaue Nights.
On top of this, The Rest Is Noise made sure you can catch your favorite neighborhood Manila-based bands: disco-pop band IV OF SPADES, our favorite bedroom-pop bb girl BP Valenzuela, singer/songwriter Clara Benin, rap rock act Dicta License., indie-folk band Munimuni, alternative-indie band Oh, Flamingo!, dance art rock artist Pedicab, indie singer/songwriter Ruru, indie garage rock favorite She’s Only Sixteen, indie folk six-piece The Ransom Collective, instrumental phenomenon tide/edit, and instrumental math-rock three-piece Tom’s Story.
Just when you think it’s enough, The Rest Is Noise offers more to this phenomenal lineup. For all the hip-hop lovers, they’ve got you covered. Local hip-hop collective UPRISING gathered their artists to join the summer blast: Kemikal Ali, Dj Arbie Won, KJah, DJ Antsdru, Apoc, DJ Nicko, BLKD, UMPH, Supreme Fist, Juss Rye, Emar Industriya, Plazma The Demented, Illustrado [Batas, Sayadd, Goriong Talas, and Apo Lerma], Kartel (Ilaya + Tala), and Zaito.
With the wide variety of performers, The Rest Is Noise is sure to cater to all music lovers in the Philippines. Powered by their dedication to bring promising artists on the table, they always find ways to improve your experience all the while proving to the world that talent can be found even in the smallest places.
