Last week’s #ScoutFaves: Ronnie & Joe, LUSH, BAKE cheese tarts, The Artisan, and more

Lex, editor-in-chief

The @Converse #OneStarHotel London pop-up – This is the first time I’ve seen a building’s interiors totally converted into something entirely different from the original, and holy shit it was a fucking experience. Converse brought me to London to experience their #OneStarHotel pop-up for three days, and I feel like this made my year already. I shopped, I met new people, and I had Converse-ations (I didn’t coin this word, it’s a real thing) with some really cool people, including one of the people I look up to, Yung Lean. I feel like I have to stop myself from writing any more otherwise I’d fill up this whole thing; stories and exclusive photos soon online.

The Artisan Collection XII – I finally have some pieces from The Artisan in my wardrobe thanks to a friend and I’m very happy that I also now have money to afford new clothes right when the brand released a new collection. I find The Artisan very romantic yet very cautious, very unassuming and it just strikes me the right way, how their clothes reflect that kind of unconditional sentimentality. Will cop.

Denise, associate editor

BAKE Cheese Tarts – It was love at first smell. The moment you come within range of a BAKE branch, you’ll be able to pick up the strong, decadent scent of freshly made cheese tarts before even seeing the shop. I was actually never fond of cheese tarts before, but the combination of its crispy rim and gooey cheese is way too hard to resist. Definitely a must-try for dessert lovers like me.

Uniqlo Women Stand Collar Blouson – My new favorite jacket! It’s practical, stylish, comfy, and surprisingly water resistant? I spilled a bit of ice tea on myself while watching Black Panther over the weekend and it didn’t stain. Four for you, Uniqlo.

Bryan, graphic designer

RUSI Classic 250 – Been inl ove with this bike ever since I got it a few days ago. Never really experienced anything past 120cc so the kick I got from this was really exhilarating. I remember wanting a motorcycle like this when I was in high school. Props to RUSI for being able to produce these in a very affordable price and man, does it look good too!

RONNIE & JOE Lemtosh Moscots – Definitely my all-time favorite pair of specs ever. I basically got all my other frames based on this one. Really appreciate the packaging experience and everything that came with it, from the case to the micro-fiber cloth and the card they give you. One of the best investments I’ve ever made.

Argo, editorial assistant

LUSH Sleepy Lotion – I pair this with some sleepy tea at night and voila! Sorry, the old Argo can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh ’cause she’s in a self-induced coma.

Queer Eye (2018) – I never thought a group of gay guys could make me cry this much, but I kid you not when I say I spent two straight days laughing and sobbing my eyes out to this show. Beyond a showcase of surface-level makeovers (of which the original show was known for), this reboot is so full of empathy, kindness, and a bunch of lovely people just being so damn lovely to each other.
